[Resources] Para-Military Organizations

Watching Red Dawn with my fellow Boy Scouts in 1984, we scoffed at the "A member of an elite paramilitary organization: Eagle Scouts." comment made by Cuban Col. Bella.

Well, the New York Times published an article last year about just that: Explorer Scouts training for Border Patrol jobs.

You know I have to put this in a modern game now, right?

  1. Wolverines!

Back in the 1980s, we had a really great Car Wars campaign using the Boy Scout Commando rules from Autoduel Quarterly. Instead of picking up trash on the side of the road for community service, we picked off the trash who made the roads unsafe.

    Good times...

  2. Here's a different take on that:

@Christian: Yup. It was plenty of fun.

  3. Interesting. I'll check out Little Brother.

I agree that GURPS Autoduel was less fun than Car Wars - something about it lacked the immediacy? or something that CW had.
