[PB&J] The Best Sandwich EVAR!

A pic of my actual sandwich!
I received an old grimoire recently, filled with wonderful alchemical recipes.

One was the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich ever.

Ingredients:
2 regular PB&Js
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
spreadable butter

Start with the fry pan on the stove and turn to medium high heat

While the pan heats up, make two regular PB&Js. I made mine with homemade concord grape jelly.

Break the egg into a shallow bowl and beat in the milk (I didn't have milk so I used heavy cream, which was delicious and rich). Spread the butter on the outside of the PB&Js.

When the pan is ready to cook (test with a little bit of water-if it sizzles, it's ready), coat the sandwiches with the egg-milk mixture and put them in the pan.

Cook the sandwiches until the bread is a golden brown. Remove from pan and serve.

  3. I'm sad that nowhere in your post does it mention the true name of this glorious sandwich!

  4. for what it's worth, the egg and milk are optional. Grilled peanut butter & jam sandwiches have to be tasted to be believed. Horribly unhealthy, but worth it.

  5. Jeff: Yes, it is.

    Oblivious: Too bad for them.

Ryan: You still have room for one of these.

Alaina: Since True NamesTM are powerful in ancient rituals, I will keep it secret ... for now!

Keith: I humbly disagree - the egg and milk are integral to the sandwich!

  6. /Matt: there is only one solution. In the name of science, we must experiment.

I say it again: I love being an empiricist.
